Hi there this week we have been learning about pohoutukawa trees I learnt that pohoutukawa trees grow beside the sea because it is warm. I liked when we found out pohoutukawa trees where chirstmas trees too. Thank you.

this week our class has learnt about the fire in the conventions centre.

The fire catastrophe

  On Tuesday there was a young gentleman just doing his job with a blow torch.  He took a smoke break then the fire started in the building but everyone made it down. He did not go to jail he just had to think about what he's done.  The firefighters tried to control the fire but the fire just kept on blowing out smoke and it is probably still burning, so the firefighters said to sacrifice the roof. The convention centre was next to the Sky Tower.

In auckland there was a big storm it destroyed some buildings and boats there was one witness. There was a big container like the ones were you put bike it fell on a car and the person got trapped in the car. When I saw the lighting strikes I thought I just blinked but it was the lighting it was a white shiny light, I heard a sound it sounded like a rumble I thought that the ground was opening because of the lighting. I was petrified and terrified and kinda neutral because it was scary. I just went to bed and prayed inside my mind hoping that the rain will soften.there were hail on people’s door I didn’t check mine because I felt scared that there was a lightning shock.The lighting color I saw was white but I found a blue lightning bolt.

This hail it's like rain but when the clouds are cold the rain turns into hail.

Mrs Naden found a video on the sky tower and the sky tower never blew down or anything.
